Human trafficing

THE STATISTICS

Human trafficking is the illegal trade of human beings, most often women and young children, for the purposes of reproductive slavery, commercial sexual exploitation and/or forced labor. This trend has continued to expand both in volume and complexity to the point where it has become the 21st century slavery!

• It is estimated that there are 27 million people enslaved worldwide today in human trafficking.

     • 80% are women and children and out of all female victims, 70% are trafficked for the commercial sex industry.

    • The largest portion of victims trafficked in the world are used for sex.

• Many people look at 27 million as just another statistic or random number. The truth is, 27 million has a face, name, age, dreams and a destiny to fulfill.
